The results are in for this year’s Green Web Game Jam, and we’re proud to share the standout titles that captured both hearts and minds. Designed to promote ecological awareness through gameplay, this first-ever browser-based edition brought a fresh wave of creativity to a critical cause. Powered by GameDistribution, Playgama.com, and the Playing for the Planet Alliance (facilitated by UNEP), the jam welcomed entries from developers worldwide, and the impact was undeniable.

As a result, three titles emerged as the top contenders, each showcasing how powerful browser games can be in delivering real-world value while entertaining players worldwide.

Judging Criteria for the Green Web Game Jam 

To guide the selection process, the judging panel, composed of experts from GameDistribution, Playgama, and the Playing for the Planet Alliance, followed four core evaluation pillars to select the winners.

Taken together, these criteria helped ensure that each selected title met a high standard of creative quality and meaningful impact. In short, the goal was simple: identify games that merge creative mechanics with a compelling green message and do it with style.

What Set the Winning Games Apart

Out of dozens of submissions, three games distinguished themselves by integrating environmental messages not just visually, but through action-driven mechanics that encourage eco-conscious thinking.

🌱 Water Junk Warriors by DELCASDA PRODUCTIONS INC.
This colorful eco-adventure invites players to clean up polluted waterways and restore natural habitats. Through playful mechanics and visual milestones, every action from planting birdhouses to deploying ocean buoys brings the environment back to life.

🌱 Evergreen Harvest by sgtwombatstudios
A farming game with a twist: harvest too much, and the ecosystem collapses. Players must gather resources mindfully, thereby reinforcing the balance between growth and sustainability.

🌱 Prasinos by Miusoft
In a world smothered in trash, trees are the only path to survival. Players plant magic seeds, clear wastelands, and battle pollution in this poetic, minimalist survival game rooted in environmental urgency.

Following up, each game will be featured on Playgama.com and GameDistribution, offering global exposure across thousands of partner sites. Ultimately, this visibility will help raise awareness about the importance of environmental responsibility and contribute to increasing financial support for a charitable organization.

Special Recognition Awards

We couldn’t stop at just three. The level of creativity shown throughout the Green Web Game Jam was extraordinary. For that reason, five additional games earned special recognition awards, each receiving a publishing offer from Playgama:

Reclaim a polluted city through collaborative gardening, recycling, and resource sharing that blossoms into community transformation.

A New Category, A Bigger Movement

Soon, Playgama.com will launch a dedicated Green Games category, featuring all highlighted entries from the jam. This means players will gain access to a curated space for eco-conscious games, while publishers gain meaningful, purpose-driven content.

As part of this ongoing effort, an additional commitment has been made for the top three winning games: if these titles are later monetized in partnership with Playgama.com, both Playgama and GameDistribution will waive their commission until the end of 2025, directing 100% of their revenue share to On the Edge, a nonprofit focused on biodiversity conservation.

By doing so, publishing these winning games enables publishers to directly support environmental protection, transforming great gameplay into a tangible, real-world impact.
